Youthful Cities: Upcoming Webinar, ‘Missing Middle’ Housing – A Youthful Rethink of Housing in the GTHA.

COVID-19 has exacerbated housing anxiety and insecurity for youth and finding secure, spacious, and affordable housing with easy access to outdoor space, public transport, and amenities is increasingly challenging in urban spaces.

The ‘Missing Middle’ describes the range of walkable and affordable housing types between single-detached houses and apartment buildings that have gone ‘missing’ from many cities. While it has become a popular approach to addressing housing issues across the GTHA, there has been little insight offered on how these issues are experienced by youth.

Now is the time to highlight the perspectives of youth on ‘the Missing Middle’ and housing policy.

This webinar, moderated by Youthful Cities, will be taking place through Zoom on October 8th, 2020 from 12 pm EST to 1:30 pm EST and will bring together advocacy, policy, urban planning, and construction perspectives for a live design and brainstorming session.

We would highly appreciate you joining our webinar and contributing your thoughts and expertise!
